With its origins in Wollongong, IRT Group was incorporated as a company on 14 November 1969 with the first meeting of its members held one month later on 16 December 1969. Pioneer Dr Max Diment had a vision: to create communities where seniors achieve their optimum quality of life. Today, IRT Group has recognised that vision, delivering aged care solutions to 9300 seniors across NSW, Queensland and ACT. We are a Community Housing Provider and provide affordable rental lifestyle community living through the National Rental Affordability Scheme. We are committed to ensuring all seniors have equal access to the best quality seniors lifestyle and care, and also provide services to those who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, through our Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged (ACHA) program. IRT's strategic plan, Vision 2015, articulates the organisation's desire to be the customers' first choice for care and lifestyle services: to touch 13,500 lives and provide $10 million in benevolent contributions. IRT Group operates across four successful and complementary divisions: ' IRT Lifestyle and Care: providing lifestyle communities, in-home care, care centres and wellness programs; ' IRT College: our specialist training organisation which offers nationally recognised training to internal staff and external clients. It's a centre of excellence for lifelong learning; ' IRT Catering: our accredited catering division with an annual turnover of $8 million supplying meals to internal and external customers; ' IRT Research Foundation: our Foundation provides grants to academic researchers focusing on subjects relevant to an ageing society.
